A 65th birthday is a time for reflection, so when the Prince of Wales’s charity rang Andrew Barton, the “celebrity” hairdresser and star of the television programme 10 Years Younger, his first thoughts were: “My God, the heir to the throne wants a makeover.”
However, the Prince’s Trust informed the Yorkshireman that it was contacting him because it wanted him to become an ambassador for the charity.
“Prince Charles has a defined style and it works for him,” says Barton, “but I did have fleeting thoughts about how I would coiff the crown of the future royal crown.”
