Idaho school bus crash: One child dead and four injured after dump truck collision

One child has died and at least four others have been injured after a dump truck collided with a school bus.

The school bus was carrying up to 10 children to an elementary school in Idaho when the truck smashed into the back of the vehicle, according to KTVB-TV.

The children, believed to be sixth graders and below aged 11-12 years and younger, were heading to Crimson Point Elementary School in Kuna, around 30m minutes from Boise.

The collision happened at the junction of Happy Valley Road and Deer Flat Road shortly before 8am, the Idaho Press reported.

Officials confirmed to KBOI-TV2 that one child had been confirmed dead and parents had been informed.

It is not yet clear what caused the crash or if one of the vehicles was at fault.
