Jude Law arrives at phone-hacking trial

Jude Law arrives at the Old Bailey, in London, to give evidence at the phone-hacking trial of former News of the World and Sun editor Rebekah Brooks. 11:26AM GMT 27 Jan 2014

The actor was greeted at the Old Bailey by a crowd of television cameras and photographers.

After arriving in a silver Mercedes, Law, wearing a grey suit with a white shirt and dark tie, walked quickly into the court building.

He has been called to give evidence for the prosecution in the trial of former News of the World and Sun editor Rebekah Brooks.

Brooks, 45, of Churchill Oxfordshire, is accused of conspiring with others to hack phones, misconduct in a public office and pervert the course of justice.

She denies all the charges against her along with six other defendants in the case.

Nigella Lawson has arrived at court for a second day to finish giving evidence in the trial of two of her former personal assistants, Italian sisters Francesca and Elisabetta Grillo.

As she got out of her vehicle at Isleworth Crown Court in west London, she was met by photographers, broadcasters and reporters.

Yesterday the TV cook admitted using cocaine and spoke of the "intimate terrorism" she suffered at the hands of former husband Charles Saatchi.

Duchess of Cambridge arrives at children's charity event in Canary Wharf

The Duchess of Cambridge is given a posy by a young girl as she attends a forum on increasing children's emotional strength against cyberbullying 11:22AM GMT 20 Nov 2013

The Duchess is patron of school-based mental health charity Place2Be which is hosting the event in London's Canary Wharf.

Speakers include clinician and broadcaster Professor Tanya Byron, who will address the issue of cyberbullying and how young people can stay safe online, and Professor Stephen Scott from King's College London, who will talk about helping parents to raise well-adjusted children.

The Duchess will meet the experts, who also include head teachers and the founder of an addiction treatment centre, after listening to their speeches at the offices of Clifford Chance.

Place2Be supports 75,000 children in more than 200 schools in some of the most deprived areas of the UK. The issues it helps children to deal with include bullying, bereavement and family breakdown.

Catherine and Prince William attended the head offices of crime prevention charity Only Connect on a joint engagement on Tuesday.
