Abuser raped teenage victim and told her: 'I am so lucky, I am so happy. I am controlling your life'

Evil: Mohammed Fakhrul Islam was guilty of a series of sex attacks on terrified victimMet Police

A rapist who used emotional blackmail to carry out sickening sex abuse on a teenage girl was jailed for 17 years today.

Mohammed Fakhrul Islam, 33, was sentenced at Snaresbrook Crown Court, east London, after being found guilty of three counts of rape, one of battery and one of voyeurism.

After the third rape he told his victim: "I am so lucky, I am so happy. I am controlling your life."

He began his campaign of abuse two years after meeting the victim in Bangladesh in 2008.

In 2010 the girl, then aged 18, came to the UK to study, and was staying with a relative, police said.

Not knowing anyone in the country she gave her number to Islam believing him to be trustworthy.

They became friends but after a while he became threatening when he saw her talking with other men.

Police said that late in 2010 they met up and Islam took the victim to a friend's house.

Once there he told her she had to have sex with him or he would contact her parents and inform them they were in a relationship and that her reputation would be ruined.

In fear the victim ran to one of her attacker's friends seeking help, but he refused and told her to return to Islam.

He then grabbed her and dragged her into a bedroom and raped her while secretly filming the attack on his mobile phone.

He then told her that if she did not do what he wanted he would tell her family they were having sex, police said.

A week later Islam told the victim they were now in a relationship and could have sex often.

He also told her he had footage of the earlier incident and that if she refused to have sex with him he would show the footage to her family and post it online with her phone number, implying she was a prostitute.

He threatened to kill her if she went out with any other man. He raped her a second time and again recorded it.

In February 2013 the victim began to suffer from serious depression as a result of the ongoing abuse and her studies began to suffer.

Her parents indicated that they were keen for her to marry and when she told Islam he flew into a rage, demanding she come to his house and saying he would ruin her life if she refused to do so.

The victim went to Islam's house in east London where he raped her before telling her: "I am so lucky; I am so happy. I am controlling your life."

Later, when she refused to go home with him after a shift at work he attacked her and her colleague - strangling her and assaulting the colleague with a set of keys - before fleeing the scene.

After being convinced by her colleague to report the matter the victim found the courage to report the mental and sexual abuse she had been subjected to.

In March last year, Islam was arrested and later charged.

Detective Constable Caroline Horden, from the Metropolitan Police's Sexual Offences, Exploitation and Child Abuse Command, said: "The victim has shown great strength of character, she found the courage to come forward and speak about her terrible ordeal and because of this a very dangerous individual has been brought to justice."

Enlarge Tweet Email Police say at least one of the three women allegedly held in a London home as slaves for 30 years was beaten while in captivity.

Officers arrested two people after three women aged between 30 and 69 were rescued from a house in Lambeth, south London, following a probe sparked by a Sky News report.

And detectives say the pair, a man and a woman both aged 67, are also being questioned on immigration charges. They said they were not looking for any more suspects or victims.

Scotland Yard also said the two accused were previously arrested in the 1970s, but did not reveal the nature of those arrests.

Police, who have bailed the pair until January pending further enquiries, said they expected the investigation to take a "considerable" amount of time.

The three alleged victims are a 69-year-old Malaysian woman, a 57-year-old Irish woman and a 30-year-old Briton - who police say may have been held captive for her entire life.

Attacker who left victim 'looking like the Elephant Man' jailed for three years

Jailed: Billy Swindells

A Merseyside man wept as he was jailed for a vicious attack which a court was told left his victim looking like the Elephant Man.

Billy Swindells launched the attack thinking his victim had assaulted him two weeks earlier - but he got the wrong man.

A court heard he had never been in trouble before, and had acted out of character while drunk.

Swindells, 20, came up behind Robert Hignett and Saul Fowles as they were walking near Wigan Road, Ormskirk, on their way to a party in the early hours of March 13, the Liverpool Echo reports.

Paul Becker, prosecuting, said Swindells started kicking Mr Fowles and threw him to the ground and repeatedly kicked him to the head.

When arrested Swindells said he had been out drinking and was drunk when he saw the two men and believed they had

Victim of 'evil' child rapist describes nightmares she is left with after his depraved attacks

Depraved: John Paul Lee

The victim of a child rapist has told how her "evil" attacker forced her to smoke and take drugs from the age of seven, and spoke of the devastating impact his assaults have had on her.

John Paul Lee was jailed for 17 years yesterday for the rape and indecent assault of two young girls, one as young as four.

The 36-year-old, of Lytham Road in Blackpool, was found guilty of nine counts of raping a child and six counts of indecently assaulting a child after repeatedly abusing the girls at an address in Oldham between 2002 and 2008.

After plying the youngsters with drink and drugs, he would force them to watch pornography and perform sex acts on him, as well as raping and indecently assaulting them.

One of the girls was just four when the sickening abuse began, and the other was eight.

Speaking after he was jailed, one of his victims described how Lee had stolen her childhood.

She said: "When I look back to when the abuse was happening to me I realise that I was not a normal child - he made me experiment with drugs and started me smoking at the age of seven.

"I had no childhood. I struggle to sleep. When I wake up in the night I have to turn my light on to make sure no one else is in the room and I have nightmares frequently.

"They are about what he did to me but mainly him making me watch him do things to the other victim. I hear her screaming. I see her crying and I feel helpless that I cannot stop it."

PC Natalie Eastwood said the two girls had their childhoods snatched away from them "in the most appalling of circumstances."

She added: "Lee is an evil, depraved man who subjected them both to unimaginable abuse.

"It was heart-wrenching for me to hear what lasting and significant impact the abuse has had on them both physically and psychologically and try as I might I cannot adequately reflect this is words"

She said this made the fact the girls had bravely come forward "all the more remarkable", and police would ensure abusers like Lee did not get away with their heinous crimes.

Lee was also ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register for life.
