Gillian Taylforth's ex-partner Geoff Knights has died after battling cancer, it has been reported.

The 58-year-old was diagnosed with stomach cancer three months ago after being taken to hospital suffering from abdominal pains.

He died yesterday, the Hertfordshire Mercury reports.

Mr Knights, of Hoddesdon, Herts, was banned from getting in touch with his ex after they split in 2009.

Gillian, who played Kathy Beale in EastEnders before quitting, was with Knights for 21 years.
